The bathroom is separate from the toilet.

The large pool where everyone comes to have fun is undoubtedly a privileged place to relax, whether with family or friends. It’s large enough to accommodate everyone, and its pretty rounded shapes make it look like a little paradise!
The little ones are also in for a treat, and for their safety we’ve designed a lovely round paddling pool exclusively for them. They too can discover the pleasures of the water in complete tranquillity, under the supervision of their parents of course. To make sure nothing is missing from this space, you’ll find deckchairs with paillote-style parasols all around the pools at your 4-star Dune du Pyla campsite. It’s impossible to resist the call of the siesta!

Dune du Pilat: an exceptional natural site
A legendary sand mountain of international renown, the Dune du Pilat is a multi-millennial formation located between the Landes coast and the Bassin d’Arcachon not far from your Dune du Pyla campsite. It was the accumulation of wind-driven sand on coastal vegetation that gave rise to the gigantic dune.
Always on the move, it advances a little further each year towards the pine forest. At 110 metres, its height is twice that of the Cap Ferret lighthouse opposite. The Pilat sandy mountain represents millions of m2 of fine sand, and covers the coastline over a width of 600 metres and a length of 3 km.
It is home to its own biodiversity, including endemic flora. The delicate eternelle des sables is emblematic of this exceptional dune, classified as a Grand Site de France. It’s a worthwhile climb, and offers a unique panoramic view of Cap Ferret and the Banc d’Arguin on the ocean side, and the Landes forest on the land side, all the way to your campsite on the Dune du Pila. You can even see it in a different light by taking your first paragliding flight over the Dune du Pilat!
What to do on vacation near the Dune du Pilat?
A must for any stay in Gironde or on the Landes coast,climbing the Dune du Pilat is an outdoor activity in its own right. You can climb the dune by its sandy side, or prefer the steps built from Easter to All Saints’ Day to make it easier to ascend the site.
To find out more about the formation of the dune over the millennia, its ecosystem and its current movements, you can take guided tours and hikes with a nature guide. Children’s workshops are also available.
At the top of the dune, observation sites with spotting scopes let you see Cap-Ferret, the birds of the Banc d’Arguin, the pine forest and the boats on the ocean. Don’t miss the interpretive trail leading from the parking lot to the foot of the dune: educational desks punctuate it, covering the specific features of the dune ecosystem. The Dune du Pyla is one of France’s largest and best preserved natural sites, making it an ideal destination for a wide range of outdoor activities.
